Thank you, thank you, thank you all...

Well, I'm back home again, feeling MUCH better.

Thank you ALL so much for all your lovely comments in my brief post, Lizzie's post and Mirien's, rather than spend DAYS catching up on them, I thought I'd post a HUGE and VERY grateful thank you here.

I am so glad I had my pre op assessment when I did, as if I hadn't had I would have continued struggling and feeling more and more shitty at home, getting steadily more and more jaundiced.

trust me, but because of the jaundice I was severely dehydrated and quite unwell and so as soon as the doc saw how bad I was, I was admitted and stuck on a drip for 3 days. Apparently a gallstone had most probably blocked the bile duct (told you you didn't want to know). Anyway, a couple of really shitty days in the hospital followed (though I have to say the staff and the hospital were LOVELY) and I had an endoscopy where they sent a jolly little camera down my throat and used a grabber on the end to clear and enlarge the duct opening. I was high on a cocktail of codeine, morphine (wonderful wonderful stuff!) pethidine and something else that by that time I was too high to really take it in, so the procedure was no where near as bad as I thought it would be. AND I got a personal ride in an ambulance and a nurse travelling with me as they couldn't fit me in in my own hospital.

Apparently, the reason they didn't actually do the op to remove the gallbladder then and there was because I really wasn't well enough, and since it was inflamed and I was jaundiced the op would have been much more major and serious. They wanted to get me in a much fitter state before doing it on the date as originally planned.

Anyway, I am home! and it's lovely!

On arrival back home though, other half had a confession to make......

He admitted he had accidentally knocked over a glass of water on my *coughs* smut file by my bed (fave printed out stories)....he knew I would be upset, so he carefully dried out all the soaked pages AND THEN IRONED THEM SMOOTH AGAIN!!!!!!!!!! He MUST care about me then!!!!!!

Yay!! I'm glad you're back and in much better health. I hope that this problem isn't recurring.

Get plenty of rest and enjoy the pampering.

*hugs*

PS. Bonus points for hubby. ;)

Welcome back, hot stuff!
Glad you're doing better and quite happy to hear it wasn't as bad as it could have been.
Ironed them, eh? I wonder if he read any of it as he was ironing? LOL
Slappy gets a gold star for his good deeds. :D

So glad to hear you're up again! Me and Claudi were very worried. Big hugs! And as I said: watch the mailbox! Now take it easy, read a lot of smut and have your hubby waiting on you hand and foot. :)

I'm so glad you are home and not in such dreadful agony!! I'm also glad to hear they had a good reason to postpone the operation rather than wanting to inflict further torture on you. I'm sure you'll be happy when that disaster of an organ is gone for good. I hope the days until then will be much better ones!

Re: hubby, you really must've scared the old boy! ;-)

Oh...Hon, I'm so sorry I didn't know. Nobody bothered to email me, so I've been oblivious to it all until just now.
((hug))
I'm glad you're feeling better. Expect a postcard soon.

Actually, I sent you an email from Embassy Suites...I got a couple of replies, but not any mention of Sil's illness. Go fish...

[identity profile] nienna-weeper.livejournal.com 2006-05-14 04:35 am (UTC)(link)
OH, boo boo sil boo I was worried... I have so been there. I can't wait until you get that nasty gb out for good.

Gee, your other half has at least one good bone in his bod...He'd better be waiting on you, hand and foot! I would be, if I could afford the air fare...

Happy Mother's Day, sweetie!

*hugs*

You're home, and feeling better, and in time for Mother's Day! And the drugs must've helped, too. As I always say, better living through chemistry.

Bonus points to hubby, though shame on him for getting the smut wet in the first place!

[identity profile] mirien.livejournal.com 2006-05-14 11:19 am (UTC)(link)
I'm still laughing at the thought of Simon smut ironing, I think it'll amuse for weeks! Once again, you know what I feel about you being home and about all of this. Love you.

I'm so glad they did something to make you feel better... I hated being green! I have thought of you often the last few days! Hugs and wishes for peaceful rest until they rid you of the nasty thing for good!
