Thank you, thank you, thank you all...

Well, I'm back home again, feeling MUCH better.
Thank you ALL so much for all your lovely comments in my brief post, Lizzie's post and Mirien's, rather than spend DAYS catching up on them, I thought I'd post a HUGE and VERY grateful thank you here.
I am so glad I had my pre op assessment when I did, as if I hadn't had I would have continued struggling and feeling more and more shitty at home, getting steadily more and more jaundiced.
trust me, but because of the jaundice I was severely dehydrated and quite unwell and so as soon as the doc saw how bad I was, I was admitted and stuck on a drip for 3 days. Apparently a gallstone had most probably blocked the bile duct (told you you didn't want to know). Anyway, a couple of really shitty days in the hospital followed (though I have to say the staff and the hospital were LOVELY) and I had an endoscopy where they sent a jolly little camera down my throat and used a grabber on the end to clear and enlarge the duct opening. I was high on a cocktail of codeine, morphine (wonderful wonderful stuff!) pethidine and something else that by that time I was too high to really take it in, so the procedure was no where near as bad as I thought it would be. AND I got a personal ride in an ambulance and a nurse travelling with me as they couldn't fit me in in my own hospital.
Apparently, the reason they didn't actually do the op to remove the gallbladder then and there was because I really wasn't well enough, and since it was inflamed and I was jaundiced the op would have been much more major and serious. They wanted to get me in a much fitter state before doing it on the date as originally planned.
Anyway, I am home! and it's lovely!
On arrival back home though, other half had a confession to make......
He admitted he had accidentally knocked over a glass of water on my *coughs* smut file by my bed (fave printed out stories)....he knew I would be upset, so he carefully dried out all the soaked pages AND THEN IRONED THEM SMOOTH AGAIN!!!!!!!!!! He MUST care about me then!!!!!!
