Well, I'm back...
Jan. 4th, 2005 03:37 pm1. Went to London.
2. Spent FAR, FAR more than I should have at 'Forbidden Planet', Virgin Megastores and small rather specialist DVD and bookshop off Charing Cross Road that has old silent movies etc.
3. MET MASTER
erestor!!!! Ate, shopped and went to see 'The Aviator' which was surprisingly good. I only say surprisingly because I am not a great fan of L De C, but he was very good and Cate Blanchet was excellent as Katherine Hepburn - she had the mannerisms and voice off perfectly.
4. Spent ALL DAY at Barbican and saw all three LotR films one after the other. I had forgotten just how bloody good they were on the big screen, and while it was a marathon event and the cushion I took was very useful, It was wonderful seeing them as a whole and they flowed together very well indeed. I MUST say though the Barbican Centre itself was an awful place. The food was indifferent, and being where it was there was no alternative, the staff were by and large indifferent and the toilets.....!
5. Had nice chat with Dad and his wife (where I was staying) and then returned home, singing loudly to Placebo all the way in the car.
6. Checked on over 100 emails on arrival!! What HAVE you guys been doing at TRGO?!?!
