Jan. 14th, 2005 12:12 amA very quick update on life in the Sildil household:
Middle son managed to break his finger. That always sounds so daft to me, like breaking a toe (though having done that it is anything but daft) but anyway, it involved a trip to A and E and then a visit to the fracture clinic the next day. Poor dear was worried sick about his viola playing (and yes, we actually got to use the question, 'will I ever play the violin (sic) again Doctor?' Yay!) but it was a 'good' break if such things exist and he should heal up nicely. Funny thing is, he can manage fine today, but yesterday when it was still very fresh he couldn't manage his shoes and socks. It is a VERY long time since I had to do that for him (he's 17!) and of course now he takes size 12's and they are not pudgy little feet.
Where I now work I have to take various tests to get basic licensing to quote for insurance cover and I did my first today, passing with 96%, so I was well chuffed. I can now 'do' vehicles! Next up, horse and rider policies!
Because I had to work between Chrstmas and New Year this time round (for the first time in 19 years I must say!) I missed the festive visit to in-laws, so next week I am popping down to visit them by myself. I am really looking forward to it, and will have almost no internet access from Wednesday to Saturday, so will take lots of drawing stuff and scribble....and play cards with mum-in-law!
