Back home from our trip to the wonderful island of Skye.
More photos, and there are a LOT since I haven't had internet access for the last few days.
The 21st June, Midsummer Day. Hmmm. I have NEVER BEEN SO COLD OR WET IN MY LIFE. I actually had to go and buy a woolly fleece hat, I was so cold. The rain was HORIZONTAL, and more like SLEET!

This is where we stopped to look at the raging torrent of water as it came off the Cuillin, the white blur on the right is the aforementioned raging torrent, the orange blur in the middle is Simon. I was dripping quietly in the car.
( More to follow.... )
22nd June - the weather was SO much better, even sunshine! However, before we got anywhere, there was nearly a complete disaster. Lizzie phoned Simon first thing from East Midlands airport. She was there and about to fly with boyfriend to Nantes, France to go to 'Hellfest'. She had the wrong passport, mine instead of hers. East Midlands airport is 55 minutes drive from our house. We were over 400 miles away, on an island. My neighbour with the key wasn't answering her phone, middle son was at girlfriend's and had his phone switched off. FUCKFUCKFUCK!!!!
After about an hour's FRANTIC phone calls, texts, Dad calming down daughter, Dad calming down Mum, our neighbour had answered phone, gone to our house, got the passport out of the drawer and handed it to Lizzie's boyfriend's stepdad, who then drove it to the airport...THEY GOT IT WITH SECONDS TO SPARE! The lady on the desk had JUST had the call to close the desk!
( ...and more... )
Back home now and wishing I wasn't! Unfortunately we arrived home to desperate phone call from VERY unhappy and miserable, homesick daughter from Clisson in France, LONGING to be back here. Silly girl hasn't eaten anything, got too hot today, too tired, and needs to rest. Aaaargh, who would be a parent?
