What I Did at the Weekend.
Jul. 12th, 2006 01:11 pmHad a great few days, just a quick report back!
At the weekend went to stay at
mirien's and then went to Tewkesbury medieval fair two days running. I took lots of photos to 'do something with' (latest project) and bought 'stuff' including a pair of black woollen breeches and a sword for middle son...as you do...
The fair was great and I will drag all the family to it next year!
We sat up far, far too late gossiping and watching QAF (er...4am) and had a great time! Thank you
mirien!
Then Monday I took the train down to London and met up with her again at the British Museum where we met with
erestor and spent all afternoon in the tea room (nice place - naked sculptures) chatting, then on to meet
ilye_elf for a meal near Leicester Square. Again we chatted and laughed almost until they threw us out of the restaurant. I stayed with other half who was in London for a couple of meetings and had a twin comfort inn booked, so it didn't cost me anything and it was nice to spend time with him, as he gets lonely and bored staying away for meetings.
Tuesday I met
mirien again and we went to the comic book shop, 'Gosh' where I spent a lot of money AND asked about them stocking my independent cartoon book, and I have a contact name to follow it up! You have NO idea how much nerve that took! I wouldn't make a penny out of it really, just cover my costs, but to have even ONE PERSON buy it, I would be thrilled to bits!
Then it was British Museum again, more tea, shopping and we met my Dad over lunch which was nice.
Back home now, and fully aware of why I don't live in London any more! Too hot, too smelly, too dirty, too crowded! GREAT to visit, but that's all!
