Went for an explore with spouse today, since tomorrow he and remnant are off to visit his mum till next Wednesday (YES, BLISS TIME ALONE) and I go back to work Monday, so we 'meandered' around the Black Country...

First stop was an old 'building-at-risk' shovel mill which the local action group are hoping to get help in restoring. Good luck to them as it's fascinating. This is the sluice gate from the (frozen) pond.

And these are two of the interior, viewed through the railings of the old entrance.

It still has ALL its machinery in place.

Then we moved on to the nearby canal

Then we headed to Rushock Churchyard...a tiny, remote little place near us, its claim to fame being the last resting place of John Bonham, drummer from Led Zeppelin. It was actually very moving with piles of drumsticks left by people and little Led Zeppelin mementos.

I can think of worse places to end up...

Then we came home...

I am so in love with your homeland (an house). Your photos have brought tears of longing and homesickness to my eyes. Your home looks like it walked out of my dreams and into real life.

Well, you've just given me something a bit more solid to dream at, and aim for.

Thanks for sharing the wonder.

RUSTY GEARS. *squee* The shadowed doorway pics are beautiful, as is the frosty lake.

So...feel like getting together and breaking into old abandoned factories with our cameras? XD
