Just had another look. What is it about winter trees, especially in the kind of light you took them in, that's so staggeringly beautiful?

The snow and ice just makes everything look so different. Nearly all the buildings down in Local Town are covered in the most amazing icicles, all along the guttering, some three or four feet long! I'm going to try and get some pictures next week if they stay that long (which they probably will, since it's still well below freezing here)
