Jun. 28th, 2005 10:50 pmAn interesting couple of days ahead...
First of all, an interview! I don't know if it will come to anything, but it is for a local publishers in the advertising production department. As far as I can see it would be administrative with some graphics, and the magazines the company publish are largely architectural, so it could be good. Anything is better than selling insurance and dealing with Joe Public who on the whole is rude, ungrateful and surly. And the office is WOEFULLY understaffed, and while I know that if I left I would be adding to the problem, it really is not MY problem. If this job isn't 'mine' then something else will be I am sure, I shall continue to look.
Secondly, I have an overnight stay in London, courtesy of husband's charity (Macmillan Cancer Relief). Other half is to receive an exceptional service medal along with a handful of others and there is a dinner and stuff tomorrow night, then the AGM on Thursday at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, South Bank, London. He DOES deserve it. To be honest and to brag a bit (he wouldn't) there is very little about designing for cancer care and 'the healing environment' in the country (and quite probably beyond) that he doesn't know about.
Anyway, two days off which works (coincidentally) well for the interview and I might even get a chance to nip into Forbidden Planet while waiting for other half to finish 'networking' on Thursday!
