Thank you everyone who cheered me up after my funk yesterday. We went out today (it's a holiday here) and drove through the Welsh Borders and stopped off at Skenfrith Castle. The whole area is known as 'The Golden Valley' and I can quite see why, it's very beautiful.

Other half and middle son wandered round the castles (three in all; Skenfrith, Grosmont and Whitecastle) and I sat and read Wraeththu.

It is beautiful, they are three lovely castles in the middle of nowhere, the last one, Whitecastle being situated right on Offa's Dyke.
