I used to watch his tv show when I was young and it was a wonderful show. He had great musical acts: James Taylor, Neil Young... and others. He had fabulous musicians and his family: June, her mother and sisters and I even remember when little John Carter was born.
Even if I had not been a fan, it was still a brilliant movie.

Date: 2006-04-02 11:12 am (UTC)I have grown up with his music in the house, the recording from the prison was one of the LPs my parents played the most. My mother and her sister were eager fans and together, they collected quite a lot of his records and played it much.
I didn't know he had toured with Elvis and the Big Bopper and those others, so it was like watching music story in the making. Imagine, Cash entering the Sun studio just when Elvis recorded Milk Cow Blues Boogie which was his very first recording! Having been a huge Elvis fan as well, I was in heaven when I got these extra bonuses.
It was so awesome to hear all that music again, and I REALLY thought it was Cash himself singing... Joaquin has done an amazing job with his songs! June Carter was also spot on, from what I remember of her.
I'm definetely getting this one on DVD - its worth seeing - and especially hearing - many times over.
