News from the front.
Jan. 10th, 2007 04:16 pmOne fire alarm. Pupil set it off 'to get back at a teacher', so entire school trudged out onto the field.
Scanned in all the invoices to send via email to the county. Was instructed on how to use a scanner by someone who hadn't really got a clue and had to read the instructions. I smiled sweetly and let him do that, then sorted it out myself afterwards.
Did my data input bit of the job. This was interesting as it largely involves behaviour issues and reports, so I have to think of creative ways to describe 'offensive language' and/or 'attitude' and so on...isn't that ALL teenagers???
Took what seemed to be THOUSANDS of phone calls regarding kids off sick, though in fact was only about 20 or so.
The prize for the pupil excuse of the day HAS to be the phone call I took; 'my daughter and her friend decided to pierce their own lips last night with an earring. Her lip is now infected and swollen.' Silly girl USE A SHARP NEEDLE and sterilise it with a flame!!! Tsk tsk, what DO they teach kids these days?

Date: 2007-01-11 04:50 pm (UTC)Yeah the phone is OK actually, partly as the sort of things I have to deal with are fairly simple, and as I get used to names it is fairly easy. I also have the whol school list on the computer at my fingertips, so as long as I get most of the info, I can work out who the kid is usually, is it's an absenteeism!
