When Sildil Met Real Life
Apr. 10th, 2004 11:40 pmAs Sildil walked with Eldanar towards the appointed meeting place, Eldanar gave a cry. "Look! that person rummaging in her bag has a Lorien Leaf brooch!..It must be Tux!"
"Where?" Said Sildil looking everywhere but the right place.
"There!...can't you see?!" Eldanar pointed out the slightly nervous figure. The two approached.
"Hello" said Sildil, also a little anxiously. The three stood around shiftily for a moment, not quite knowing what to say. Fortunately, Eldanar, being a chatty elfling, soon broke the ice and by the time Nov and Luthien arrived, the three were giggling and talking happily.
There was another short pause as the five escapees from Imladris became acquainted with one another and then the group proceeded to look for a shop with a couch and a counter (and maybe some Eau de Mordor, Sildil thought hopefully). Failing to find anywhere equal to Mistress Mauberz' establishment, the five friends settled for a meal in a restaurant.
Three hours later, after much shrieking with laughter and strange glances from other visitors to the establishment, the group decided that they may possibly have outstayed their welcome and decided to move on,leaving the traumatised and bewildered waiters behind.
"I think we should have a drink somewhere." said either Tux or Luthien. The others agreed and went in search of somewhere suitable. Again, it was no where near as comfortable as the shop in Imladris, (it didn't have a trampoline for one thing, and Eldanar really wanted to bounce at this point) but there was a free table that Tux grabbed and all five of them sat around with their drinks, Eldanar however decided not to have milk and cookies for once.
Sildil and Tux went off to avail themselves of the facilities...(hmmm..maybe I should re-write that sentence?)...and while Sildil was waiting patiently, asked a small female elfling if she was also waiting. The elfling gave a look of horror and ran in panic to her mother, who returned with an expression which only meant that she HAD to be related in some way to Lord Elrond. Sildil trembled nervously. How did the poor soul manage to get into trouble everywhere?
Fortunately it was a misunderstanding. It appeared that said elfling spoke a strange dialect unknown to Sildil, and was very shy. The mother explained to her that she had only been asked a friendly question, and Sildil breathed a sigh of relief. Banishment had been avoided once again.
After yet another three hours of hysterical giggling and various conversations about cucumbers and bad slash fics, among other things, all too soon there was no time left and sadly the five friends had to return to their respective homes.
Sildil giggled and chuckled and sniggered while heading westwards. It had been a wonderful day.
