Tewkesbury Medieval Fair

Went to Tewkesbury Medieval Fair today, SU bought books, youngest remnant bought a dress, middle remnant bought a replica sword, I bought more incense and then we watched the re-enactment of the Battle of Tewkesbury, 1471, 'one of the defining battles of the Wars of the Roses'.

Oh the memories....damn, I miss it. Still, don't miss the bruises, the hangover, the total lack of sleep, the heat exhaustion, the being smelly or on one memorable occasion, the concussion.

Great place though, I adore it.

Watching the ambulance take away the bloke in the neck brace was also a little...alarming howevver!

I wasn't watching the battle, but being attuned to radios as I am, I did hear the words 'blue lights on their way' on the radio of one of the security guys at the market and guessed something was up.

Uh huh, we consoled ourselves with the thought that if it were REALLY REALLY serious they would have whisked him off pretty sharpish, but they could obviously wait till the event was over so we think they were being cautious rather than desperate.

That's what we told ourselves anyway!
