Lizzie! :End of Year Show...
Jun. 14th, 2009 01:45 pmBeen away this weekend at mum in law's, showing niece how to use Painter IX, so didn't get a chance to post here about Lizzie's end of year show.
It was spectacular, and each year it gets slicker and more professional. All the categories were good, and I tool over a hundred photos, but won't bore you with all of them!
Just picked a few. First up is Lizzie's 'Wonder Woman' corset, she did in fashion corsetry. She had HUGE trouble with the boob bit but seeing her wearing it, we both realised that it wasn't the MAKING that was the problem in fact, it was her total lack of chesticles! Nice corset though!

Then came her Captain Hook coat and hat from Theatre costume and millinery. It looks really good and she'd made green satin breeches as well that you can't see in the photo.

The HIGHLIGHT of the evening however was that she and her friend Sam both got presentations! She got a trophy, a HUGE basket of sweets of the trashy, love-heart and sherbert kind, and a lovely bouquet of flowers. It was for 'Involvement, dedication and commitment' and the course director said how she'd fought back from a severe illness that had effectively trashed her last four years at school and that she now was a fantastic student and had a promising future.
I was SO thrilled and proud and as she said, she's never had an award or a trophy before, her brothers ALWAYS got prizes and so on at school but she never did. It gave her a tremendous boost.
Last picture is her and her friend Sam in the grand finale.
