Domestic Goddess or what...?

One of the slight problems with growing your own fruit and veggies is what to do with nature's bounty?

There are only so many raspberries one can eat with ice-cream before turning into one, so this week has seen The Great Preserve Making Session.

I have made...

Five jars of raspberry jam (to add to the previous six)
Nine jars of beetroot chutney
Fourteen jars of gooseberry jam
and (even though I say so myself!!!) a pretty AWESOME Tarte Tatin with our first apples!

I'll tackle the blackberries when I get back from hols!

Sounds like a great haul! I wish raspberries grew in my climate. My fave jam.

Yes it was! And it's one of my fave jams too, which is why we grew them!

Ahahah yeah, I was talking to another US friend yesterday about how she grew up eating nothing but pickled cucumber because her mum grew them!

Folks bring their bounty to work and we benefit! :D Fresh peas and raspberries today... carrots and radishes last week. Yay!

Hah, I WOULD like to point out that in getting the MANY jars ready for the above preserve making extravaganza, I did discover some interesting, dried out, shrivelled offerings dated back to 2008. So I am not THAT perfect.
