A very interesting morning.

A while ago I joined the 'pressure group' (for want of a better description) 'Changing Attitude', which is a group within the Church of England 'working for Gay and Lesbian affirmation within the Anglican Church', and managed to get along to one of the meetings today, at last!

Starting with 'our' experience we then looked at societal analysis, (ie: society's views, true and false of homosexuality), then theological study and reflection, which leads into how we then change attitudes which in turn leads into 'our' experience again. If it all flows properly, you get a wheel that turns and things move forward.

As the Vicar said who led it though, unfortunately in the CofE (not the Council of Elrond by the way!)they skip the societal analysis, dash straight to the theology, and then wonder why they get themselves up shit creek without a paddle. (OK, not QUITE how he put it, but close enough!).

Anyway, I guess in typical CofE fashion, we ran out of time just as we got to the 'what to do about changing people's attitudes' bit, but they will carry on at the next meeting!

BUT one thing..what is it with CofE clergy and beards? I think it is mandatory, and probably why there are not enough women Vicars actually.....
