Eldest deposited in Edinburgh...

sildilAll went well...apart from the horrendous journey up there. If one wanted to think of the perfect place to bring the entire West Midlands road network to a standstill, it would be where there was a chemical spill on Friday afternoon. M6 closed which added 2 hours onto our journey, but never mind, we were safe.
Flat nice, Edinburgh nice (as always), Eldest happy and settled, until this morning when he found that for some reason the mandate I gave him to pay for the fees was invalid, so I now need to spend the afternoon panicking over finances.

I always thought I'd probably like Edinburgh. Hills like San Francisco.
However, anywhere landlocked gives me acute anxiety. The ocean has to be within two miles otherwise I go nuts.
Sorry the trip was so bad! Being a Californian, our driving culture is thus: brick on accelerator, gun in lap, white chocolate mocha machiatto in hand. So, traffic jams tend to end in exchanges of gunfire.

Date: 2004-09-14 01:21 pm (UTC)Edinburgh is beautiful, and actually is on the Firth of Forth, so technically I guess is by the sea, though it is a very wide estuary there. In fact, on Saturday evening I was picking up sea shells on Cramond Isle which is just outside Edinburgh!
