Oct. 3rd, 2004 11:09 amOne of those bitty weekends that are dreadfully unsatisfying, spent ferrying offspring to extra Viola lessons (middle son has been LOADED with extra work...good), play performances (middle son = prompt for 'Blithe Spirit"), collection of boyfriend (daughter), appointments for Doctor (me, deafness to be checked out), shopping, ironing etc etc etc.
BUT, I HAVE booked our holiday next year, (I think - waiting for confirmation) in a cottage we have taken twice before in Cornwall. Pretty, fairly 'ordinary', quiet fishing village, but near lots of nice beaches. We will probably stay in our favourite Youth Hostel on the way down as well, and visit the Lost Gardens of Heligan again, which is close. We have visited them before once, and the Eden Project twice which is also nearby, so I think it's their turn again.
Eldest is still happy at college, we haven't had any messages saying he wants to come home yet! HAVE had regular IM's though, asking for ideas of what to cook, but he has now discovered his cookbook and (apparently) successfully produced Bean and Spinach Bhajis and Malaysian Chicken the other evenings. He did say how much he appreciated all the meals I have cooked over the years, as he now realises how much effort it takes. I had a gooey moment at that point!
