Oct. 26th, 2004 01:57 pmAfter a potentially disastrous start to yesterday (other half went off to meeting, leaving the car so we could have use of it, but taking the car keys with him ~ idiot) middle son and I went into Birmingham BY BUS (one hour) and back by train (20 minutes standing jam packed on train that refused to leave the platform). It was worth it though as I got the things I wanted.
Troy DVD ~ watched last night and lusted over it all over again
Nice jumper from Monsoon
Two Manga - 'Battle Royale' and I am ashamed to say I am utterly addicted
Eldest goes back to Edinburgh today after his weekend visit. It is going to feel very strange for him returning to his flat. I think he will suddenly realise how much it IS his 'home', when he sees how familiar it all is, which is nice. He is planning on coming down for a very fleeting visit in early December to see Sophie and also to go the Birmingham's German Christmas Market, which will be great!
Middle son auditioned for next year's school production ~ they are doing 'Fiddler on the Roof'.
14 year old daughter continues to plead for boyfriend to stay over, to which the answer is repeatedly 'no'. Yes I am a heartless mother.

Date: 2004-10-26 12:46 pm (UTC)And I'm already looking forward to the updates about next years production!
And I'm not going to mention Troy.. because I haven't seen it... but is it worth it? As a story/film, or better just to drool over? ;)

Date: 2004-10-26 01:57 pm (UTC)We thoroughly enjoyed it, just as we enjoyed reading Homer. But, the movie and the book are definitely NOT the same thing!
