This is the comment I posted on leaving New Menegroth:
"I am genuinely sorry to say that I am leaving too. I have LOVED playing with all of the players here, have found myself stretched and challenged as far as writing is concerned, and have made new friends as well. I also know a LOT more about the Feanorians than I ever thought possible. However, to continue playing in a RPG where one of the people I admire most and who I considered a good friend has left so unhappily, just doesn't hold any fun for me anymore. Goodbye."
I asked a fellow NM player to ask Annie if my art work could be removed from the group, Annie said I had to ask her. So I sent a polite email requesting she remove my work. No response to that, so I sent another one. No response to that, so I asked another player to post something at NM making the same request. This was the eventual reply (in part):
"...Way to go with the snarking on your and various LJs. It makes me very very sad. Insulting, assuming, saying hurtful things, and blaming is always a very productive way to handle things, I've found. Why make a sad thing worse? I'm sorry I wasn't able to remove your artwork within the time frame that apparently you set for me.... I too had RL commitments what with family members being rehospitalized and such, so I've been busy over the weekend. I'll remove the artwork over the next couple of days as soon as I have time..."
All I wanted was the courtesy of a response to my reasonable request. There was no 'time frame', I don't care if it takes a week or three, so long as I know that it will be done.
I know that my LJ friends have seen my post expressing my extreme sorrow at losing Andi from the LotR fandom. If that was 'snarky', then Annie has NO bloody clue what I wanted to put but didn't out of deference to Andi, even if he was no longer around to see it.

I know it's infuriating, but this is really a case of somebody being punished enough already with being who she is.
don't get upset, it's only a waste of energy - which you should rather invest in beauitful new artwork. ;)

Date: 2004-11-21 10:13 pm (UTC)I was told by Levade that the last post I made at NM was deleted *right* after I posted it. Not a moment too soon in leaving, apparently.

Date: 2004-11-22 12:50 pm (UTC)Basically Andi left the LotR fandom, closed his LJ, his website and left the RPing group I and others here were involved with, as the stress he was under due to unreasonable behaviour of certain parties meant that he had just had enough. I think that more or less sums it up. Maybe someone less upset could put it better, but there you go.
