Hmmmm, he is a bit bad actually....and at the moment sitting in a cave muttering dark thoughts to himself, but there is always hope that he will be alright again!
Hehehe, thank you! I'm sort of developing it a bit each time. Basically, I draw a line drawing and have the hair criss-crossing pretty much in freehand as the mood takes me, then after I have scanned it in and popped it into Fireworks, I colour it as an abstract, picking shapes I like and trying to balance out the colours. It can take a long time, if I have lots of lines criss-crossing and if I have engaged my brain I do try to remember which direction the light is coming from etc. This one I did first with a few brown highlights in it, but decided it didn't work as he looked too gentle, so I switched back to just the grey and black. Now you know my secrets!
