Sighs of relief......

sildilHUGE sighs of relief all round, the first night of 'Fiddler on the Roof' at Nick's school was this evening and after MEGA angst last night after the abysmal rehearsal (I have never seen him look so wretched) it went absolutely fine.
No awful mistakes, all his lines were OK, the only mess up was in the song 'Do You Love Me?' which he, as Tevye the father, sings with Golde his wife. Apparently in the rehearsals they have been brilliant, with real chemistry between them, but tonight the girl completely lost her lines. Nick carried on and she picked up well enough. She was actually in tears, but in fact it worked very well, it is a moving song and it fitted. She has the most wonderful voice and is very talented indeed, unfortunately her parents are both VERY VERY critical and probably have her going over it again and again right now for tomorrow.
BUT, it worked, and both the music teacher and the drama teacher are very relieved!
The only disappointment is that Nick's grandparents were coming up tomorrow to see him but.......they got the wrong week. They thought it was NEXT week and now can't come. They are terribly disappointed, it's been planned for WEEKS, but never mind...at least Nick gets to sleep in his own bed for the duration of the show.
