What I did at the weekend...
Sep. 25th, 2005 06:50 pmSaturday:
Got up, eager to sort out some sort of printable portfolio.
Got it set up, pressed print.
Printed half, turned pages over to do other sides. Ran out of one particular colour so it all came through pink.
Problem: Stupid (very old) printer won't let you change cartridge mid-term as it were. Tried to fool it, and managed to put in new colour cartridge. Result: NO colour printing at all.
Tried replacing it with old colour cartridge. Still no joy.
Need new printer.
Sunday:
Got up, eager to get new printer.
Went to Staples. Too expensive. Went to Curries, got reasonable printer.
Came back, unpacked it. Removed all polystyrene and sticky tape. Need USB connector. NOT PROVIDED.
Try Do-It-Not-Very-Much. None left. Drive to and try Tesco. None left.
Drive to Staples (further). Stand for 10 minutes trying to decide which to get. Phone middle son and ask him to check. He advises.
Return. Wrong cable. Shout at middle son.
Drive back to Staples and exchange cable for correct one.
Return and set up.
New printer works perfectly and now have portfolio printed off in little booklet form.
Stare at it and wonder WTF to do with it now.
