I've got a cold!..Ok, it's not a bad cold, but I have lost my voice.

I cannot remember the last time I was ill, or when I had to take time off work, but I am not going in this evening. The trouble is, I only work two hours a day, and to cover the hours I missed yesterday,(to go down to London), I said that I would work 4 hours tomorrow.

Now I am worrying that not only will I have to struggle in, but I will have to cope with a long morning as my boss will be there, hoping to get all the extra stuff done that he has planned for me.

Damn....I could really do without it!

oooh...try not to talk to much and strain your voice further...drink plenty of orange juice and try standing in a nice hot shower for a bit to steam yourself...*nods* That might help.

If all else fails, cough on everyone at work and spread the misery? *grin*

I always swear by gargling with warm salt water. And then drinking a hot toddy. After enough hot toddies, you won't care what your voice sounds like!

Sorry you're not feeling well though. I hope you get better soon.

try drinking some ginger tea ^^ (bring 2 cups of water and 1 inch square piece ginger root, thinly sliced, to a boil. if you like it, you can add some allspice and cloves - about 2 or 3 each. simmer 30 minutes. add 1/4 cup sugar or honey - preferably honey. serve hot. sip slowly.)

the taste probably needs some getting used to, but i can tell you, it is highly effective. guaranteed to drive out any cold ^_^

if the ginger taste is really too pronounced for you, try this: simmer for only 10 minutes, add 1 teaspoon of black tea and let it steep for 3 more minutes. strain out ginger, spices and tea. add a cup of milk and heat until very hot but do not boil. -> recipes from someone who's constantly losing her voice ^^
