Mary Magdalene
May. 15th, 2004 06:47 pmI have been busy this afternoon, doing this month's stained glass installment for church tomorrow. Fortunately, it was a good subject,'Mary Magdalene'.
I don't know if anyone remembers the one I did last month?...anyway, only two more to go. Then it is up to the Vicar to try and raise the money to do it!! I'm glad it's not my problem...I think I will be old and grey by the time they actually managed to make it into a window!

Date: 2004-05-15 01:50 pm (UTC)This is lovely. I adore working the stain-glass idea into paint. I did an entire series 2 years ago and it really gives you a good idea, doing these kinds of layouts, of the design complications inherent in the actual glasswork..these are the only ones I can find on my pc.....

The person who purchased the HUG asked me if I would do the Last Supper in this style and I crept off into the night at the very idea of the complexity involved....
I am impressed you would take on such a huge undertaking....I would be suffering brain freeze O__o

Date: 2004-05-16 10:23 am (UTC)I am only taking this 'little project' on really because of the Vicar, who is one of the most persuasive people I know!...whether we ever get it made up, I have no idea, nor am I particularly worried!
His next and more realistic project I AM pretty keen on, which is to paint a mural to celebrate our sister church's 40th anniversary. THAT could be rather exciting!...I said I'd like to do a painting, thinking of a small 3'x 2' one, but he has bigger ideas!

I have had those kinds of conversations before too and take pains to make sure they understand that I don't work one inch off the ground. >.<
